Admission Policy

Al-Ibaanah Arabic Center accepts all qualified students regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. Regular students are required to have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Al-Ibaanah does accept students that do not meet these requirements under the status of special students. Any student accepted into the academic program at Al-Ibaanah must agree to abide by the rules and policies of the institution, and the laws that govern us as non-residents of Egypt. All students must possess legal documentation in order to study at Al-Ibaanah Arabic Center; valid passport and visa.

Admissions Process

Admission Requirements for All Entering and Transfer Students

1. All entering and transfer students must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Consideration may be given in special circumstances not meeting this requirement. All students must submit one photocopy of their high school diploma or educational equivalency certificate.
2. All new and transfer students are required to take an entrance examination consisting of two sections: written and oral. Only those students who have completed the examination process will be considered for admissions.
3. The application and testing fees (90 Egyptian pounds) must be paid with submission of application.
4. Students must possess all required documents for residence in Egypt; valid passport and valid visa.
5. All students must submit two letters of recommendation. (ex. Recommendation from religious leader or institution, academic institution, or previous teacher or professor, etc.)
6. All new and transfer students are required to submit a copy of their latest academic transcripts; high school, university, or trade school.
7. All new and transfer students must successfully complete an interview for academic suitability and counseling session, in order to be considered for admissions.

Special Student Status

1. Students who do not possess a high school diploma or equivalent may be considered for admission only after submission of a letter of request for admission as a special student.
2. Students given special student status are required to submit all requested forms and complete all of the other above requirements.
3. After completion of three academic levels in our program, and having maintained at least a 2.5 GPA, or 75% grade average, the student will be reviewed for admittance as a regular student.

Returning Students

1. Students who have been previously enrolled at the Institute, but have been absent for two sessions or more are required to complete the special testing procedure for former students.
2. Returning students must submit an explanation for interruption of their studies.
3. Returning students with outstanding financial obligations to the Institute will no be considered for re-admission until all outstanding balances are paid.

***All applicants must complete the application and testing process accordingly. No applicant will be considered for admission until this process has been completed and the Office of Admission has received all required student documents.

ALL PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

Prior to being accepted at the IAI the following Admissions Requirements must be met:
1. All potential applicants must visit the school and complete an application or go through our on line application program.
2. Irregardless of which school or how many years an applicant has studied Arabic, all students transferring from another institution or wanting to attend the institute are required to take a placement exam as a prerequisite for admission. Applicants requesting to enter in the Intermediate or Advanced levels will be required to take a written exam and appear before the board of examiners (see schedule for dates). Applicants refusing to take a placement exam will not be accepted for admission.
3. All prospective students must have an interview with an admission department representative.
4. In complying with the Egyptian immigration law all international students are required to provide two photocopies of their passport, visa, and two passport size pictures.
5. Incomplete or improper filling out of the applications will result in delay of acceptance or the application will not be accepted by the admission department.
6. All applications submitted after the enrollment period will not be considered for that period of study or enrollment. See academic calendar prior to applying.
7. All returning IAI students who have not taken a course at IAI for over a period of two sessions will be required to take a placement test for re-admission.
8. All students applying for admissions are required to pay the 90 LE non-refundable application and administrative fee, regardless of his/her status.
9. All students wishing to attend any of our Rapid Intensive Programs (summer, winter etc.) are required to apply one month prior to the beginning of the program.
